Bichon Poodle Mix Puppies

Also Known As Poochon Puppies

Bichon Poodle mix puppies (also known as Poochons) are very unique.  These dogs are a cross between the Bichon Frise and the Poodle, two of America’s favorites dog breeds.

Since this is a cross, no two puppies will be the same, so you can expect your puppy to be somewhere in between the characteristics of a Poodle and a Bichon Frise.

The Bichon Frise is a dog that looks similar to the Maltese, but is larger in size.  This dog is considered to be non-shedding so it is good for people with allergies.  Due to its two layer coat (the curly outer coat and silky undercoat) daily grooming is needed.

Bichons weigh about 10 to 18 pounds and are 9 to 12 inches tall.  The Bichon Frise is actually thought to have been descended from the Poodle.

A Miniature Poodle is very similar to the Bichon in many aspects.  It is about the same size, also is considered hypo-allergenic, requires lots of grooming, and is also considered to be highly intelligent.

Because of such similarities between these two dogs, it might hard to tell whether the puppies are actually Bichon Poodle mix puppies or purebred puppies.
