Picking Out A Poodle Bed

Poodle bedding comes in a variety of shapes and sizes.  There are lots of dog beds out there, but not all were created equally.

When picking out poodle bedding there are a number of things to consider, like quality, shape, material, thickness, and wash ability.

Quality Poodle Bedding

Quality dog beds can be hard to find.  A lot of dog beds out on the market are nothing more than a pillow.  What you need to get is a quality dog bed.

Quality dog beds may cost more, but they last a lot longer, which results in a lower lifetime cost.  Cheaper dog beds need to be replaced sooner, so in the end you end up spending more money.

Shape

Poodle bedding comes in a variety of shapes.  Some look like pillows, where as some other ones look like couches.

Many have bolsters around them to help make them sturdier as well.

Where you plan on placing the bed should influence what shape of dog bed you are going to buy.  Square or rectangluar dog beds are best if you have a corner, to make best use of the space.

Material

Quality more expensive poodle bedding is made out of memory foam or orthopedic foam.  This is the same foam found in more expensive mattresses for humans.

You should look for dog beds that have several inches of memory foam. 

Wash ability

Look for dog beds that have removable and washable covers.  Not only will this help to keep the dog bed looking newer longer, but will help your dog enjoy the bed more.

Accessories

Poodle bedding is also available now with accessories.  Some dog beds come with heaters to help relieve the aches and pains of arthritis.

Other dog beds come with cooling pads, to help cool off poodles during hot summers.

As you can see, picking out poodle bedding is much harder than you thought.  Make sure you get a good quality dog bed that your poodle with grow into versus buying a cheap dog bed that will not last.
